Do your metabolism increase in Winter?

Dumb question of the day, ie, looking for excuses for not feeling bad if I eat more.
But really?

We burn a few more calories to stay warm in Winter but not enough to make a real big difference. The carb cravings and such are more due to less sunlight and SAD.0

It's funny that you posted this, because I just finished running a monthly TDEE report and I haven't had this high a TDEE in the last 6 months. I've been doing my normal amount of exercise so I think in my case it is because December was so busy that it increased my NEAT by a lot during that time (we are talking a 500 calories a day increase, which is twice what I burn in planned exercise!).0

I thought Summer would burn more, as it hard to tell if your just feeling the heat or your metabolism is just burning more calories.0
