How exercise biochemically induces fat burning

Research published yesterday (Jan 7, 2014) in Cell Metabolism - shows the biochemical pathway leading from exercise to fat metabolism - starting from various proteins expressed in working muscles - through to the molecule BAIBA, which induces white fat to become brown fat - ending in fat breakdown in the liver.

The nitty-gritty here: http://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/retrieve/pii/S155041311300497X

This layman's news article discusses it: http://www.the-scientist.com//?articles.view/articleNo/38810/title/Understanding-Exercise/

Bottom line: exercise is not just calories in calories out. It also biochemically initiates the breakdown of fat in the liver.

This easily explains why I have been on a plateau for so long. My liver has been very unhappy until 2 days ago. 'Scuse me now, gotta strap on my dancing shoes. Gotta whole lotta movin' to do!

Thanks. I guess this is why I never seem to be able to lose without some exercise.
