Quick Fix?

I'm new to MFP and am trying to soak up all the knowledge and tips I could find. I have to say, I'm really surprised and disheartened by all of the quick fixes people seem to be looking for! Juice cleanses, 17 day diets, water pills, etc.??

I'm going to try this - count my calories, move a little, then move a little more. I'll let you know if it works out

You shouldn't be too surprised...it's January and while I'd love for everyone new here to be here for the right reasons, many of them aren't yet. When they are truly ready to do this, they might be back (or at least not looking for "jump starts" and quick fixes). Best of luck to you! It really does work (take a look at my ticker, that's since Aug 2013).

There is NO SUCH quick fix... though people claim there is.

You're doing things the right and healthy way...

Eat less.. Move more.. and Hydrate with lots of water!

I just returned too and I'm in the same boat.. one step at a time... so do this...

buy a food scale, log your food water and exercise and only weigh yourself once a week at the most. (personally i'm doing it monthly)

Add me if you'd like some encouragement! :)

Are you an alien? You're supposed to want to lose 10lbs a week consistently, using dangerous and unsustainable methods. Especially at this time of the year.
