Weight Loss Fitness Plan ::HELP::

Hey guys and gals,

I've been going to the gym for two months now, I've toned up a tiny bit but the pounds are barely coming off? What am I doing wrong?

I mainly do 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights, I'm trying to get a schedule made up but don't even know the best way to do it

Anyone with suggestions or has been here and done it please let me know :)

    What is your cardio intensity/routine and weight routing.

    Without knowing too much you could also be gaining muscle mass (lean body mass) while losing body fat at the same time.

    Without a calorie deficit (calories consumed less than calories burned), you won't loose weight. You don't mention dieting, so the prior posters' questions are pertinent.

    alpha-anemone! What a strange and interesting name. I am a minor fan of the coelenterates. Even kept an anemone or two in a salt water aquarium (for awhile before returning them).

    anemones do compete with each other.......e.g. shoving each other around in slow motion, for example.

    Like mentioned by the previous, exercise is great for health and fitness, building muscle and toning but comes a very poor second in weight loss compared to calorie deficit.

    As mentioned above, you won't lose weight unless you're in a calorie deficit. Your diary isn't open, so we can't see what you're eating. Have you been sticking to a calorie goal and logging your food accurately?

    What is the air speed of an African laden swallow?
  • 8lbs, I'm thankful for that but I was losing just a little faster my first time around
  • gym 3-6 days a week, 20-30 minutes of cardio then weights, I'll do my arms one day, abs another, legs the next day, etc
  • I am trying my hardest to keep up with the less calories more exercise, it's just tough trying to do it the correct way, in high school a barely ate anything and was sick all the time, borderline starving myself and I know that is not the answer. Just stocked up on some healthy things so sticking to that will lower my cal intake by half lol

    Thanks! Glad someone knows my name reference, I thought it would be different, I work with tropical and marine fish for a living and am torn between a degree in marine biology or vet tech, Fish, coral, anemones I LOVE IT ALL
  • I'll have to open it, I've been very back and forth with it, some days I do some days I dont but I know that's not helpiong me. SO I made a choice to crack down, went to the store to get healthy things to eat vs the processed foods I have been eating. The last time I lost my weight I just counted cals and didnt go over 1200 but still ate what I wanted, that's not quite working now lol,

    I found that when I switched the order I was doing this in it helped. By lifting weights first, I was using up glycogen built up (and keep myself from lifting when I was already fatigued from having just done cardio, which puts a lot of people at risk for improper form and injury) so that when I was doing my cardio, I burning more actual fat.

    It may not work for anyone else, but worked for me and you said you were looking for suggestions. This would be an easy one, as opposed to massively changing your dietary intake and/or adding to or reducing from your workouts. Just an idea :)
