CLA Suppliment? Has anyone used it?

I heard of it through the Dr. Oz show. Of course they don't give as much information as you need before you go an buy the product....but I bought the product. Anyway, I haven't taken it yet because I haven't started my workout routine. The guy at GNC said that it loosens fat, but you must exercise in order to loose what has been loosened.
So has anyone used it with success? Have you used it with no success? I'm curious about the affect/success rate.
P.S. I'm going to be doing Jillian Michael 30 Day Shred along with 45 mins on a stationary bike 5 days a week. I'm wondering if that's rigorous enough for the CLA to take affect......ughhh too many questions!

I've taken it several times when I was cutting. It is touted to help prevent catabolism of muscle tissue and increase fat metabolism. As such I don't think it's all that necessary for your average gym goer/weekend warrior. I found it help me shed a little more fat when I was already down around 10%, kind of just like a little extra oomph. This is by no means a magic bullet for fat loss though. If you are simply overweight and looking to slim down you're much better off just upping your cardio and cutting back on your carbs. Remember your body's preferred source of energy is glycogen (stored carbs) and you won't start burning body fat until your glycogen stores are depleted which normally only occurs after like 30 minutes of moderate exercise. The whole idea behind low carb diets is to pre emptively deplete these stores so your body goes straight to your fat stores for energy. In short, you'd get more bang for your buck by simply cutting carbs than by expecting CLA to make your body fat magically disappear.
