here on mfp, am I suppose to aim for the calories in my goal or for my net calories? I am a little confused.

    At the end of the day, in a perfect world, your calories remaining are zero. You want to get your net calories as close to zero as possible. IF you happen to go over or under a little each day, you're fine, but MFP does all the math for you.

    Log your food, log your exercise, get the net calories as close to zero as possible. Simple.
