K so I am on day 9 of doing the 30 day Shred. I took a pic on day 1 and 5 and my husband and I and a friend all saw a diff already. I am also counting cals.
I weighed myself today, and have gained almost 5 POUNDS!!!!! WTF!!!
I am expecting my "monthly" tomorrow, so maybe that has contributed.. but 5 POUNDS!!!!!!
Anyone have an ideas??? I feel sooooo discouraged. I want to just sit down with a massive chocolate cake.:explode:

Calm down....likely water and glycogen being stored in your muscles due to starting an exercise regime. Your TOM certainly doesn't help either. Our body weight can easily fluctuate 5lbs just from those things alone. Just keep logging your food, staying within calorie goal, and being active and it will all work itself out.0

Put down the cake. If your calories are in check it is probably just water weight and TOM related. Your weight can naturally fluctuate 5lbs in a day also. If you're new to exercising you can end up with more water weight from that too - so you have a few things working against ya. Step away from the scale for a week and then try again. Don't quit - it'll be okay! :flowerforyou:0

Did you weigh in the morning? On my weigh in days that's the first thing I do when I wake up, and it works well for me. Also, my monthly always makes me look, feel, and weigh in as heavier than any other time of the month- try again in a week and don't be discouraged!!0

Yeah, what they said! Water retention possibly due to: high sodium intake, which most of us consume way too much of, esp myself included, swollen muscles, and TOM. Don't sweat it, and break out the measuring tape!!! When I first started doing Curves, I didn't lose any weight for 2-3 weeks, but I was losing crazy inches! I lost 6 inches in a week, then 13 inches in the second week! Crazy! If you can visibly see a difference, then it is definately working. Keep it up!!! You rock!!! FYI, I often gain 2 to 3-10lb's in a matter of days or a week just from water. Lol.0

I know right before my TOM I get insanely hungry anyway. However, just like the other ladies said, don't even stress it. Don't weigh yourself and don't get discouraged. Just try and keep up with everything you're doing and drink lots of water! You'll be fine in a week.0

Yeah, but don't use that measuring tape during your TOM if you are like me. I can look in the mirror right now and know it's just not the time to check it, hee hee. I look pregnant, seriously! And yes, I weigh more the past couple of days.0
