lifting induced stomach upset :(

sometimes when I go to the gym and lift weights my stomach will start to feel kinda light and funny, definitely off, borderline nausea. i can usually push through it, it occurs a lot of the time if i'm holding my breath and straining to do a lift without noticing. however, today this happened and after I drank my protein smoothie after the workout, my stomach has been feeling upset and unsettled all day. I've been hungry but i have no desire to eat, and this affects my ability to consume enough protein... but has anyone else experienced an upset/unsettled stomach after weight lifting, or know what a cause could be?

you probably need to get the correct breathing technique down
here's a good article that explains it better than i could

It might be that you're eating too soon before working out. That's the only time I've felt like throwing up during working out.
There's some exercises like deadlifts where I get light headed and feel like passing out, but never nauseous.0
