Better Food Choices

So after seeing a Doctor yesterday, I need to make some changes. I need to be eating every 2-3 hours, due to blood sugar levels and blood pressure tend to drop easily. I was told I need to eat more protein and snack more often. I need help with what to eat. I am trying to lose weight, and eat healthier, so a little nervous about eating so often.
Does anyone have good breakfast and snack ideas that would be healthy, maybe more protein, but won't cause me to gain weight? According to MFP, I am allowed 1400 calories a day. If I don't get a workout in, that doesn't really give me much room to work with if I have to eat all day!
