The magic of brown rice???

I read articles about weight loss and nutrition, and it seems everyone is touting brown rice. What's the magic in it? Is it better than other grains (quinoa, farro and freekeh)?
I like brown rice, but I prefer the others. I also use the grains in combination.
But if there is magic in brown rice that will help me in my weight loss/fitness journey, I'm all for it.
Can anyone shed light on this subject?
Thanks!

I'm interested to see what people say. The macrobiotic diet says to eat a lot of brown rice, but I'm not sure why.0

It has a nutrition breakdown that is not too dissimilar to white rice, but has more fiber and so it takes longer to digest and is considered more of a "complex carb" than white rice.
Nothing magical. As with anything else, appropriate portions can be worked into any diet.0 -
I get that. But I'm surprised the other grains aren't promoted. They all have more protein and fiber than any rice, and are tasty.
Thanks for your reply0 -
The other grains aren't promoted by who? I don't see a ton of touting of brown rice, though it might get more in the US press than say farro and freekeh, which most people have never heard of. Brown rice is an easy substitute for white, which people do eat. Quinoa gets a ton of press, I think.0

I've heard a lot about brown rice being better than white rice, because the nutrition is more complete, but nothing to equate to a magic bullet. It does NOT have much more fiber per serving than white rice.
I think brown rice is mentioned a lot as a whole grain because people are more familiar with rice than some of the other grains. But those others are coming into their own.
And there is no grain out there are will help you lose weight. Eating less than you burn is what's going to lose the weight.0
