Big guy needs some advice

I have a problem weighing all the time. The problem is, they don't make a scale that can weight me. So I don't know what to do to check my weight.

Sorry! That's an awful problem to have! Do the Dr's scales go up high enough? Maybe a factory or airport nearby has an industrial scale? Maybe if you could find one they might let you come and weigh twice a month or something?

I don't know as the most I've weighed in at is 295. That said, I know your pain so please, hang in there. Find a scale and start utilizing MFP. Re-learn how to eat and change your relationship with food. Become a vegetarian that eats meat (for protein). Distance yourself from sugar and processed food. If you really want this (weight loss) you can do it.

Google Living XL... I know they have some ones there that handle up to 1000lbs.. though the place can be kinda pricey..

I know how yah feel man.. When I weighed 420lbs I had to weigh at work on an industrial scale designed for steele bars

It is a glass scale but dont worry it is extremely durable!!!

I have a few ideas for you-when I was bigger I weighed on the freight scale in the basement of the hospital.(seriously). These scales are anywhere a company does a significant amount of shipping. Any hospital/clinic should have at least one scale that could weigh you. I've been on a large scale at both the sleep center and the cancer center. Another option is to use two ordinary scales with one foot on each-don't know how accurate it is, but it would give you an idea.
You could also just use the measure feature and chart the shrinking inches around your neck, hips and waist.

Excellent advice above. Even if you can't find a scale that works for you, try tracking your progress in inches lost. The weigh-in section of the MFP site includes a couple measurements.

I'm not sure where you go to school, but my college (not a huge university but a satellite school) had a nursing and nutrition department where they had the scales to accomodate up to I believe 1,000 lbs. Not only that, but they also had extra large arm bands for blood pressure readings and measuring tape for inches!

If that doesn't work, you could always go to a local weight loss clinic (Weight Watchers, Quick Weight Loss) as I know they often have larger scales, too

Just don't get discouraged. You will see the weight coming off in collar and waist size. And think how great you'll feel when you can weigh on ordinary scales. And we're here to help if you feel down

My doc showed me that you can get a decent reading using 2 scales on for each foot - weird but it works (assuming you can add Lol!)- Whether one or 2 scales with digital scales it is hard to stand still enough without wobbling for the readings to stabilize.

This Taylor scale from target can go up to 450lbs. For $30 it doesn't look bad.
