O_O' Is this enough?

I recently joined a free Fitcamp/bootcamp. The trainers there are all about strength building. So I go there 4 days a week for 45 minutes. Each day we target a group of muscles and do it hard (legs one day, arms another, etc). The 45 minutes includes warm up and cool down so maybe we're getting 30-35 minutes of actual strength training.
I wanted to fit some cardio in but my trainer there told me that at my size, I should be worrying about strength training and limit my cardio. Is this true? Before I started the program, I was running/walking around my neighborhood for 1 hour every morning. Since I've started I'm scared to run because I hear you're not supposed to do hard core strength training and cardio on the same day. So I'm at a loss.
I don't feel like the strength training is enough since I don't particularly break a sweat, though my muscles do hurt afterward.
Extra: 5'5, 141 pounds.. only looking to lose 10-15 pounds. I eat maybe 1200-1400 calories a day (I don't really count calories but I don't really eat a lot either.. plus I'm vegetarian.)

None of that is important to weight loss....your diet is the most important aspect of weight loss. Your exercise is for fitness...so your workouts should reflect your fitness goals.
In my experience, bootcamp type of classes are basically circuit training...which is fine, but that's pretty much cardio with some muscular endurance work. Sweating or not sweating is irrelevant to what kind of workout you've had. Cardio is just weight lifting for your heart and lungs...
Diet for weight control; exercise for fitness.
Diet - weight loss/maintain/gain
Cardio - weight lifting for your heart and lungs...increases overall endurance and aerobic fitness.
Weights/Resistance/Strength - preserves/builds muscle mass (dependent on calorie intake), significantly changes body composition...essentially, you look better naked.0
