We have some. It's currently in a Tupperware bin in my pantry. It was purchased by my husband quite some time ago (prob 15 months ago or more) and I never saw the package it came in so I have no idea what brand it is. Are the powdered PBs mostly the same as far as calories, macros? If I use what we have I just want to know if my numbers will be skewed if I just enter it as PB2 if it's not actuslly PB2 brand, you know? I hope that's clear enough lol!

There's obviously no real way to know, but I remember when Trader Joes had "peanut flour," and I think the stats were similar to pb2. PB2 has added sugar though, so it's possible that it's more caloric than other brands?? I think you are pretty safe just logging it as PB2. You aren't going to be using all that much (I'm assuming), so it's probably not going to make much of a difference. Just my 2 cents, though.
  • I just discovered PB2 and think its pretty amazing for getting a good protein without the added calories and fats. I would imagine most brands are similar, assuming there isn't anything added (sugars, etc) which is kind of the point I think… One thing to note, I saw the recommended shelf life for PB2 is 10-12 months unopened and 4-6 months after you open it. Likely recommended just for best taste, not that it will actually "go bad" and make you sick. You might have a better product (and address all your questions) by getting a new batch. Good luck!

Thanks all. I don't particularly like it plain (reconstituted) but as a powder, mixed in chocolate protein shake, it's really good. My current aim, to get it used up, is to substitute it for 1/2 the real PB in a cookie recipe. I'm hoping it works out but I won't be terribly upset if it doesn't.
