Powdered calcium citrate

Hi all,
I just had an RNY gastric bypass on 11/5/13, and I've had a rip-roaring case of TMJ Disease since 1992 (no, I'm not kidding) with multiple jaw surgeries. I've had to switch to a powdered calcium citrate, UpCal D, because my jaw simply isn't handling giant chewables or the caramel-type chewies. I'm wondering if anyone else out there has had experience with powdered calcium citrate, what kinds of foods/drinks you put it in, and am I ok putting it in my morning coffee. The UpCal D has sort of a minty flavor to it that can definitely overwhelm things like pudding and yogurt. I haven't been brave enough to put it in just water yet, partially because I can't find anywhere that tells me how much water I need and partly because of the flavor. Thanks for your input!
