MIND GAMES

Isn't if funny how we play "mind games" with ourselves? It's as if we have multiple "friends" and we are determined to fool them. Got to thinking about some of the things that go through my mind as I attempt to diet, exercise, or justify the facts.
Here's a few that come to mind and I'm sure there will be more which I will post as the days of the New Year roll by. Would love to have you share some of your antics as we all attempt to make light of our situation - we just eat too dang much and exercise too darn little.

Remember to laugh - it burns calories and that's a fact!

1. Weigh naked - first thing in the morning. Makes me feel so good. Of course, then I gotta go put clothes on.

2. Step on and off the scales multiple times - and take the LOWEST reading.

3. When walking or running UP a hill - I don't look at the top, which seems sooo very far away and oh so steep. I look down and pretend the ground is flat.

4. Wear bulky tops - it disguises the fact that I am fat and have multiple rolls.

5. Only take ONE piece of candy or ONE cookie at at time, assuming that I am consuming less calories that way. (Ignoring the FACT that I do this way too many times in a day)

6. Telling myself that I will "workout" tomorrow cuz I am too tired today.

7. Putting on pants that are much larger than I am and pretending that I have lost a pound or two cuz they are so loose.

8. Making a New Year's Resolution on January 1st that I know is ridiculous but makes me feel good - until January 2nd and I call it quits.

9, Telling myself that I am sleeping in my PJ's cuz I am cold - when the FACT is I don't want to run the risk that HE might see me naked.

10. Drinking multiple cups of coffee and telling myself that I am meeting my water intake requirements for the day.

11. Checking in on MyFitnessPal and recording my weight in tenths of pounds.

12. Assuring myself that I will start eating right TOMORROW.

13. Believing that even tho it took 40 years to put on 40 pounds that I can lose it in 40 weeks.

14. Assuming that my MFP friends believe that the only things I have stuffed in my mouth for the day is what I logged down in my Food Diary.

15. Telling myself that "I am NOT overweight; I am just nine inches too short."

Anyone else got some they would like to share?

It is not about my MFP friends. It is about me. So when I lie I am only lying to myself.

    Nice post.
