I have been logging my walking just looking it up here. MFP posts 50 of walking at 3.5 mph as approx. a 274 calorie burn. (brisk pace) then I looked it up trying to find what my treadmill is posting. "walking on treadmill... 3.6 mph/ 3 miles" that was 503 calories. basically the same speed and distance. WHY THE DIFFERENCE? THAT'S ALMOST DOUBLE!:noway: Is one closer to truth than another?

Your treadmill must think you're 350lbs. 500 calories walking 3 miles, I don't think so. I think they say it's around .6 times your weight in pounds per mile, or .3 for 'net of BMR' calories. So if you're 150lbs, around 270 calories, which is about what MFP said.0
