Too much protein??

Hello, I am new to this and have added what I plan on eating today and i am under in calories but over in protein ...is that bad?? I know i want to stay within the limits .. but this is only day 2 of using my fitness pal ...Just wondering .. thanks

    I know, I had the same problem and my Dr. told me not to worry about it that protein is good. I just ignore it now and pay closer attention to carbs and sugar.

    Going over in protein isn't necessarily bad, but look at the sources and by hohw much you're going over.

    If you're having protein shakes (no matter the source of the protein -- whey or whatever), stop. The protein you get in those isn't well-absorbed by the body and CAN be harmful. An extreme excess of protein can be harmful to the liver and kidneys.

    But if you're getting it all from food sources, I wouldn't worry too much about it. (FYI, according to both the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic, even Olympic level athletes only need a slight increase in their protein intake and can get it from a balanced diet.)

    I know this is more info than you probably wanted, but there are a LOT of myths out there about protein and they can be dangerous. Just do your research and use reliable sources and you'll be fine. :-)
