If you are on the South Beach Diet, I need you as a friend. I LOVE the communication piece of MFP, but it's hard to find information about South Beach. I did it three years ago (lost 19 pounds), got pregnant and now he's 15 months old. My new goal is to lose 18 pounds. Sometimes, I need a little extra motivation/encouragement to stay on the plan. You know...the weekends are the hardest for me. Is there anyone else out there doing the South Beach Diet? I'm on day two of phase one. Yeap, a long way to go.

I did the SBD a few years ago and lost quite a bit of weight, i'm now trying to loose weight through exercise and clean eating. Saying that most of my weight loss to this date is due to cutting carbs and reducing salt.

It is hard at first but does get easier, phase two is much easier than phase one

    Good luck

    Hi
I was considering it because it seemed less restrictive than atkins (which i've done so i get the low glycemic index foods idea) but i haven't gotten the book yet -
    How does it work ?

    Thanks,
    Janet:heart:
  • South Beach diet is wonderful! It cuts out simple carbs (a lot at first in order to eliminate cravings). I lost over 100lbs 4 years ago and kept most of it off. It is difficult at first because of the cravings you are trying to overcome HOWEVER once you adapt to eating healthier foods, you end up eating more simple veggies & the like.

    It's a great way to eat-forever!

I'm back in college & eating more junk (with everyone else) that's why the weight is creeping back (and I don't have time to work out every day).

Give it a few months and see how it works for you-you won't be disappointed!

I'm super late replying to this post but I just started SBD. I am in Phase 1. I don't know if anyone is still doing it, but I am just starting the journey.

I have 15lbs to lose. Since I started, I am already down 3lbs!! I have had the SBD book on my shelf for quite some time. Although I don't have a ton of weight to lose, my method of exercising and 'eating right' was not working! I needed a change - a drastic change. I like the methodology of good carbs to be included in my daily intake. Its a good program and a good way to maintain weight loss. I physically feel great - not bloated like I usually do.

    So 'friend me' :)
