Research is showing that some cases of obesity may have a viral component. This is serious scientific research. Of course, for now, there are no vaccines for humans yet or anything, and we still have to go by diet and lifestyle modification to deal with weight. But when they figure out exactly what Ad-36 does, it may be easier to find a way to reverse some of its effects (I'd hope!). Glad to know there is research going on in this area.
What do you think of this? Were you aware of this research? If a test were available, would you want to get tested for antibodies to Ad-36? The articles say some other viruses may also contribute to weight gain in animals and humans. So, practicing good hygiene and avoiding sick people may help avoid getting infections which contribute to weight gain.
