Coughing after you eat?

So this has been going on for a few weeks now, I get this really awful rattling cough down in my chest. My entire family was sick over the holidays and I thought maybe I was just getting sick too, but I only start coughing right after I eat (no matter what I eat) and it only lasts a few minutes. I have no other symptoms of being sick, just this weird little cough after eating. What's up with that?

I had this too but I ignored it for a long time. It is likely acid reflux. I didn't think my coughing was acid reflux because I didn't feel a burning in my chest but apparently just the cough can be acid reflux as well. Talk to your doctor and try taking an acid reducer. They sell omeprazole in stores. It doesn't need a prescription.0

Eating can stimulate mucus production, causing you to cough.0
