Does my numbers sound right?

I Am 26, 5'7 And Last Time I Weighed Myself (Christmas) I Was 182. My Goal Weight Is 135-140. I Lift Weights 3X A Week, And Do Some Cardio On My Days Off Weights (Zumba Or Elliptical). I Am Also Nursing My 3 Month Old. Does 2000 Calories Seem High Or Sufficient To Lose Weight But Also Keep My Milk Supply Up? Thanks!

You need 300-500 additional calories per day above what MFP gives you as an estimate to maintain supply if you are exclusively nursing. So to calculate it in the MFP system:

MFP Daily Goal (which MFP gives you based on what you input and how much you want to lose per week)

    PLUS

Breastfeeding calories (you can find this in the Food Diary, it will automatically add those calories to your daily goal and you need to eat these calories)

    PLUS

Exercise calories (MFP will add you calorie burn to your daily goal. Most people eat some but not all calories back in case the estimates are off)

EQUALS amount of calories you need to eat each day. You'll need to watch your supply and tweak your calories as needed, but this will get you started.

When you nurse, you need more calories. You can easily burn more calories in 20min of nursing then 20min on the treadmill. I'm at about the same measurements as you are, however I'm not strength training yet. Based on my BMR and TDEE, I should be consuming around 2100 calories a day on the days that I workout. I would imagine that you probably need to consume more calories if you are nursing to keep sufficient nutrients going to your 3 month old.

I recommend speaking with your Dr. since this involves your little one's health. Your physician will know your what your body is going through and what it needs. The only, absolute, for sure way, to know what your deficit should be, especially while nursing, is to do blood work with your physician.
