Should I record pilates as cardio?

I always thought pilates was more of a strength training activity and that it didn't burn many calories so I always just recorded it under strength so I can keep track of how much I'm doing. However, I recently saw that MFP has pilates under cardio and I entered my stats, if I do beginners pilates for 45 mins I burn approx. 120 calories (I read on some online calculators its 145 calories).
I know MFP overestimates calorie burns so I usually deliberately underestimate my exercise burn e.g. if I walk 2.5mph I record it as 2.0mph.
However, 145 calories from the pilates is quite a lot and as I net at 1200 calories my net would be 1055 and that seems too low. I'm not feeling extra hungry or anything so should I just leave it how it is or record the pilates as cardio?

keep in mind that 120-145 calories you burned during pilates also includes the amount you'd have burned just by laying on the mat with your eyes closed. to get a better idea of how many calories you burned that arent already accounted for you should deduct the amount you would have burned just by being alive during that time0

The type of pilates I do doesn't have any lying down on a mat just resting unfortunately :laugh:

that's not what i mean.
your body burns calories 24/7 by virtue of being alive. you still would have burned calories during that time you did pilates even if you wouldnt have done pilates.
that is what i mean. in order to know how many calories your activity burned you also have to take into account that you were already burning calories, calories have already been accounted for in your calorie goal. so if you're going to eat back those calories, you probably shouldnt be eating back the full 120-145, but whatever is less after you take your normal calorie burn into account
for instance, i burn approx 125 calories an hour just by being alive (breathing, blinking, thinking, typing on the internet, etc). if i perform a workout in an hour and my heart rate monitor says i burned 625 calories, i really only burned 500 calories performing the activity.0 -
