En route to getting fit!

Hey all! I've finally got an account after being a long time forum reader. I'm trying to get back in shape after months of unhealthy eating and making excuse after excuse for working out. I'm 24 years young and am 5'11 and weigh 194 lbs and am looking to lose about 15-20 pounds. I just started a new job and my plan is work out in the morning before work. I used to play volleyball and basketball in college and I'm fairly athletic and now I really want to lose weight and gain muscle. I'm thinking about doing a Warrior Dash race in May and will use that to help me train.
