Hi all been underway for about 10 days now, and at the moment i'm just calorie counting and trying to up my exercise by walking as much as possible. I reckon I've got about 100lbs to shift, and hoping to get most of the way there in 12 months or so.
1st week or so, has actually been pretty easy, I've eaten a huge meal this evening... stir fried chicken, loads of veg and a cup of rice (cooked). I'm amazed by how hard it is to hit my limit (1900 at the moment) by eating healthy foods.
So far i've cut out all sugar in drinks (I'm drinking tea with no sugar and water mainly), avoiding as much fried food as I can and trying to snack on fruit only. I'm also trying to get breakfast in every day (weetabix or musli)
I need to go out and get some scales though as i've no idea how i'm doing.
Anyway, nice to say hello to you all.

Welcome!! Sounds like you are off to a great start! Gradually changing things will help you stick with your plan and not get so overwhelmed by restrictions. You don't have to give up the foods that you love. You just have to learn to work them into your healthy lifestyle and use portion control. I know that I'm eating healthy and exercising daily; so I don't feel guilty about having a cupcake or a couple of slices of pizza from time to time. I just don't do it everyday!
