Does your weight fluctuate like mine?

I'm starting to wonder if it's me. I went out to dinner last night, logged my meal including 2 glasses of wine.
I get on the scale this morning, and I'm 1 pound heavier. It's discouraging because I want to lose 1 pound a week, but from day to day my weight fluctuates anywhere from a 1/2 pound to a pound.
I've been weighing myself everyday because I got this cool Withings wi-fi scale that records your weight into MFP automatically.
It seems like I'm doing something wrong because the weight loss is slow. does anyone else experience the same thing?

congratulations, you're 100% normal!! It is completely normal to be up a bit, sometimes even a bunch, if you weigh daily, due to any number of factors including but not limited to...
-alcohol consumption
-retaining poop
-high (or higher than normal) sodium intake
-added amount of exercise
-time of day/circumstances at time of weigh in (did you eat/drink/pee/shower before weighing? What are you wearing?)
-etc
Stop weighing yourself daily if your sense of security in "doing the right thing" is compromised by it, it's not necessary and as you've already noted can produce really negative feelings and insecurities. So long as you're seeing an OVERALL downward trend, isn't that what matters??0 -
Perhaps I should weigh in once a week. It reminds me of my early days when I had a talking scale and it kept on telling me "One Person At A Time Please." How rude is that! :-)0

yup completely normal. I gain all the time and every day my weight is different. i used to be addicted to the scale weighing daily and it is frustrating. Just like now, lol. I went on vacation and gained 4 lbs and i am trying to work it off. I came home wed and i weighed myself yesterday and i was 0.4 down. finally I ate very well and at my goal yesterday, i felt thinner so i weighted myself today and i was back up 0.4 + 2!!!! Sometimes i just don't get it... the body is strange. you think if you are eating well you should see a change but the body has a mind of its own!0

This.
I weigh myself almost every day, but I expect to see fluctuations in either direction. Some weeks it appears as though I've lost nothing, but I still average about a pound a week. I've found it very educational to log my food/exercise consistently and see how my scale weight responds. But you have to be mentally prepared to see those changes and take them in stride. As long as you're in a calorie deficit, you're not gaining actual weight. The downward trend is really what matters.0 -
Try dealing with up to 10 lb fluctuations !!! LOLOL its nerve racking but as long as it eventually goes down, I try not to let it bother me to much. For MFP I only log the lowest number I see on the scale when a weigh Monday mornings ,the fluctuations I just keep logged on my own little diary book with notes as to sodium I had the day before to see if I find a pattern for what it is that makes me fluctuate so much and retain water for a day or 2 then whooshes it away .0
