Do I need less calories if I sleep in?

I sleep in on the weekends, usually past my normal breakfast time. I've always just eaten a big breakfast and had a late lunch and dinner as normal, making sure I meet my calories for the day, but it just hit me this weekend that if I'm sleeping for a few hours longer than usual, do I still need the same amount of calories for the day or should I knock of a couple hundred since I'm not as active? THANKS!

You can go for fewer calories if you're not active those days, but 1200 calories is the bare minimum for a female so as long as you don't go below that, I don't see the problem. Maybe others will think of something I've missed that you should be more aware, but these are my thoughts on it.

    Best of luck.

Not sure. I've wondered the same thing. But I guess it depends on what level of activity you base your cals on and if you are still that active when you sleep in. I am. I usually stay up later and work out and move more on the weekend than I do with my desk job.

So I eat my calories. Usually harder to stay within than to meet on the weekend, if you know what I mean.

I have my TDEE set at 'Couch Potato/Lightly Active' and then I eat back my exercise calories. I still usually workout on the weekends, and am out and about during the day. So pretty active I guess

You should figure in your overall activity in to your calorie level- I would not suggest adjusting your calories down every time you sleep in. That level of micromanaging is unproductive.

If your REALLY want to do that, you can get a fitbit and let it negatively adjust your calories, but don't do it yourself- that level of effort will make you crazy for miniscule potential results.
