My cousin stopped smoking through hypnotism. He however didn't kick his bingeing habits with it so who knows?
I think they say you've got to be suggestive towards it for it to work. I know some places offer "virtual gastric bands". I couldn't comment on if they work or not though.0 -

I was picked out of the audience when I was in undergrad for a hypnotist show. I was faking but my friends who were also picked said they were not faking....so I guess works on some, in some situations0

My dad was a believer in self hypnosis and claimed to have cure himself of recurring headaches through self talk during a meditative state. He was not a big believer in hocus pocus or new age but he did believe we can re-program ourselves somewhat.0

good to know that there area living proof for this. my gut feel is that it would work but this confirms that. i've started a hypnotism program i'll find out soon if this works.0

If you want to do this....then do it. I've never been hypnotized before. It might work for you. I wish you the best.0

I delivered my second child with hypnosis. It started with me having migraines and my gyne suggested hypnosis. He said I did so well with it he had me follow through with my delivery. !!...
... however when I went to a differnt session: person to lose some weight I only lost 6 pounds the hypnotize said that my desire for food was greater.best of luck to you stay positive and believe.

I personally prefer 'self hypnosis' to the idea of someone else telling me what to think. Maybe it is just me, but I have an independent streak a mile wide and just the thought of someone else making suggestions for me when it comes to my health turns me off.
I would personally suggest giving meditation and affirmations a go. As strange as it sounds, I have programmed myself to see my gym clothes as motivation. I have clothes that I only wear when working out and have done this for so long that now as soon as I put those clothes on, my subconscious knows it is time to exercise. I can get an energy boost needed to exercise just by getting changed .
There is a psychological theory behind this related to id associations. This is the same theory that things like 'the secret' and even, strangely enough, a lot of self affecting 'magick' or new age spells. Most of these things do not explain how it works, but if you want more information (rather than just taking someone's word for it), research 'programming your id'. It is worth it.0 -

This sounds common in many athletes and performers. Also those in stressful jobs such could have this similar approach.
good thing that you discover this for yourself. well done0 -
