water shoes to wear in a public pool?

I am looking for suggestions on a good pair of "water shoes/socks" to wear at my local YMCA pool. My concern is one of hygeine, so the actual build/support of the shoe is less important. I currently wear my flip flops up until I get to the pool edge, but I would like a shoe I could go into the pool with. (I am swimming with a toddler so I don't want to mess with putting shoes on and off at the pool's edge.) links, suggestions would be very helpful. I guess, the thinner, more discrete, the better. I don't want to look like I am jumping in with an athetic shoe. I have looked into the brand Teva.
