I'm traveling quite a bit right now, but I don't want that to mess up my weight loss goals. What foods do you eat while you are traveling that are healthier than fast food?

One of the hardest things to do while travelling is eating healthy.

However, there's no reason to abandon all hope when you have to go out to eat. Make healthy decisions and don't eat everything on your plate just because it's there.

Sandwich shop type restaurants (subway, etc...) are your friend. IF you don't eat a plate of eggs, bacon, and sausage and pound down 5 glasses of orange juice and milk at home, there's no reason to do it at the hotels free breakfast.

And if you have a mini fridge and are in a hotel for a couple of days, there's nothing stopping you from going to the grocery store vs a restaurant.

I used to travel quite a bit for work and found that I could do ok at meals, but the snacking was what got me. I started making sure I was always carrying something like a bag of nuts (high protein and shelf stable) that I could have to snack on rather than eating the donuts and other junk people would bring in.

To help me out with meals I would usually take a couple minutes to check the menu online for wherever we were going to eat dinner to help me make better decisions since I could usually get the detailed nutritional information online. Also don't hesitate to ask for a lunch size portion if it is something that they offer on their lunch and dinner menu.
