Polar Heart Rate Monitor Question

HEllo all! I got my hear rate monitor last week and I am IN LOVE with it! BUT! I have a general question! How long after a work out should I wear my HRM?
I usually work out for about 45 minutes then go home and do some cleaning around the apartment... Should I wear it for a short time after working out until my heart rate has 'settled' to a resting point? Or should I take it off immediately and track only the calories i burned in my work out?

Most HRMs Ive used always are pretty high....so I read it, and dont add anything else I would do, unless its another hard workout.

For instance I did T25 today, and am doing Insanity tonight. Anything else like vigerous cleaning I wouldnt count.

I stop it right at the end of my workout. Any calories burned after that is figured into your BMR. I actually deduct BMR calories from what my heart rate monitor says at the end of my workout before putting it into MFP, so since my BMR is 1440, I'll deduct 60 calories if my workout is an hour long since I would've burned that anyway just from living. Not everyone does this though, just prevents me from overstating cals burned.

I don't have a science-y answer, but I stop it as soon as I'm done with my workout. That's pretty much how I work the whole MFP thing, though. I don't log any exercise unless I'm intentionally trying to get a workout in, and that means no logging wind-down calories.
