Acronyms Explained (for Noobs)

no doubt, you've seen some acronyms frequently used here on MFP but have been too embarrassed to ask what they mean. this short guide is intended to help you.
NSV = non-starting Volvo. Volvos were once considered to be practical cars, but this acronym highlights that no matter how practical a car you own, there will inevitably be small problems with it. an example of its usage on MFP would be "i ordered this salad because i thought it was low in calories, but then i looked up the nutritional info and i ended up 200 calories over on the day! NSV". so it's used to denote irony.
SW = station wagon. i don't know why people use this acronym, but i see on profiles a lot, along with a number next to it.
CW = covered wagon. similar to SW, it's used on profiles a lot and it confuses me too.
GW = green wagon. again, i have no idea why people use it on here, nor what the number next to it means, but it is another common acronym. i'm not sure why "green" matters, but it probably has something to do with the green bar of approval on your home page when you are under your calorie goal.
MFP = my flirting pal. this one is obvious. MFP started as a dating site and you can see that legacy in the public forums on a daily basis. however, since there are other free dating sites, the MFP powers that be decided to change the focus of this site to social networking and cat gifs. i don't think they thought that through though...
anyone who has other acronyms definitions, feel free to add them to this thread with followup posts.
