i just started MFP last week and they started me at 1200 calories. iv been reading a few things about BMR and according to that i should be eating about 1525 Calories . so do i change to that.? Will it delay my weight loss? Thanks

It gave you 1200 calories because like most, you probably picked "sedentary" (even if you aren't) and 2 Lbs per week...the absolutely most aggressive approach possible which really should only be used by those needing to lose a lot of weight.
Keep in mind that you're also supposed to eat back exercise calories...so if you're doing 1200 calories and you exercise and burn 300 you would eat 1500 calories.
Really though, there is no reason to eat substantially below your BMR...doing so results in more muscle loss than you would otherwise have. Really, this would appear that you don't have a ton of weight to lose and need to go slower to lose in a healthy manner.
I never netted below my BMR while I was losing...it might be slower but it will be more sustainable and you will preserve more muscle mass. When yo lose muscle mass your metabolism dies with it...0
