Protein ideas

I need good tasting, easy and quick to prepare, and cheap protein ideas besides chicken.
I'm not opposed to protein powders but would need ideas on things to mix them in, for a different consistency - I don't like the watery texture when mixed with water. I drink the Special K protein shakes, bars, etc. but while not specifically doing low carb am trying to limit it (closer to macros - always tend to go way over) and these are often high in carbs and don't keep me full for very long.

Other than chicken, you can always go for turkey breast (usually it's the same calories as chicken, 4 oz. for 120 cal), fish, red meat occasionally, eggs, greek yogurt is cheap when there are sales, and cottage cheese. There are tons of options. As far as protein powder, try mixing it in oatmeal once it's cooked. You can also take ¼ cup instant oats, a scoop of protein powder, 2 egg whites, and half a mashed banana - throw in some vanilla extract & cinnamon, then mix it all up and fry it like a pancake. You can add blueberries, nuts, whatever you want. It's a great breakfast with everything you need in it and the protein powder does nothing but add flavor and help keep the pancake thick. Good luck!0
