Hey.
Lately I've been doing this thing where I do not eat all day until at least 7 at night because I'm afraid If I don't save my calories for then I'll end up eating during that time anyway and going over for the day=/
This really is frustrating me because I used to have self control and a healthy routine.
( I would eat breakfast at 730, snack at 930, lunch at 1230, snack at 230, snack between 3-5, dinner at 530, maybe dessert around 730)
And that would be it! But now I find myself not being able to do that! I'll fast till 7pm everyday then eat like crazy to get all my calories in! any advice on how I could get back into that habit so I'm not saving all my calories for late night feasts I guess you could call them?

Start eating breakfast, lunch and dinner and then stop... your body changes to your eating patterns and that is why your not used to eating at that time and not before.. the key is once you get your calories in, no matter how hungry you are at 7:30 or whatever, just don't eat anything and you will eventually change back to that routine. More protein and fiber items at last meal will help you feel full longer as well
(This is assuming your eating enough calories and not undereating)0 -
Just make dinner your biggest meal then...that way you can save room for a snack also. I also find that if I work out prior to having dinner that I don't have require a snack as I am eating a bit later.0

eating that way isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is essentially intermittent fasting.
Is there something bad that happens when you do this or do you just not like that pattern or something?0 -
Hi Tina,
That is a good question. Actually our bodies don't need to eat, until they do need to eat.
What that really means is eat controlled portions as you get hungry. if you are not hungry then don't eat or eat something small and healthy.
Focusing on trying to save calories during the day so you and over eat at night is not what your body wants, it is what your brain is wanting.
I might suggest stop thinking about your calories daily if it is messing you up and making you over think it. Try instead to plan your meals the night before for the next day. Spread it out so that is smart, healthy and good tasting.
Our brain gets us into more trouble with diets than our tummy. Stick to what your tummy tells you.
Hope that helps and keep up the great work!0 -
You might want to try dividing your calories into 2 separate meals and see how that goes for you.
But I agree with above, you aren't necessarily doing yourself harm by eating only once per day as long as you are in control of your calories. But I can imagine it might be pretty stressful to only eat once in the day, and stress is not good for weight loss.
Best wishes.0
