Advice for streamlining my fitness tech please!

Ok, this is for my tech-minded peeps, and I apologize for the lengthiness. I've been geeking out lately with fitness tech and am looking for the most streamlined way to do this. May not be affordable to me at the moment, but something to work towards. I currently have a Polar f4 HRM and a Garmin Forerunner 405 GPS watch. I also often wear my BodyMediaFit (non-bluetooth). I have MFP synced to BodyMedia, RunKeeper, and Pact (an app where you can earn money for logging your food/working out, which is also linked to RunKeeper). My phone is a Samsung Galaxy sIII.
Suggestions for the best way to streamline this a bit? I feel kinda like a Borg (part woman/part machine, lol) when I go out for a run! Maybe bluetooth HRM transmitter? Or upgrade my GPS watch to something that includes a chest strap HRM and bluetooth? Particular brand/product recommendations?? Any suggestions are appreciated!!!
TIA! :flowerforyou:

You can totally get a bluetooth HRM transmitter that works with your smart phone. Amazon shows the JARV bluetooth HRM that works with your phone for $35. It works with Endomondo and a bunch of other Fitness apps. Endomondo tracks and maps your run so I think it replaces the Garmin watch.
I still like the Fit Bit watch but I think it's a little bit $$$. Personally, I'm going to wait for the price to go down.0 -
I know of many people that rely on their phone for their GPS tracking during their runs. I am not one of them. I just find taking my phone out with me too clunky. For someone who runs with music and their phone with them anyway, maybe, but I don't listen to music when I run. too distracting.
When I have tried using my phone for GPS tracking, it just doesn't work for me. I always have a hard time getting it to do what I want, then when I occasionally do listen to music, or more likely, running podcsts and have to switch between the player and the tracking app, It distracts from my run. When I rains, I would worry about my phone getting wet and lets not even talk about operating it in the cold. Have to take my gloves off so I can operate it.
I have not run with the 405, but I do have a 205 and LOVE it. The 405 is compatible with heart rate monitors. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=garmin 405 hr monitor
Can't really help you with the media fit thing. I don't know exactly how they work. If they are tracking calories from running, could you maybe leave it at home and use the calorie info from the Garmin (which will be much more accurate with the HR monitor)? Don't know.
Blessings,
