What motivates you to exercise daily? I need some pointers because I'm wanting to lose about five pounds and it's driving me crazy.

When I started I had a weekly goal......90 minutes per week. I figured anyone could find 90 minutes a week. I logged my minutes into an Excel spreadsheet. After that became "easy" .....I added time, then after that became easy....I added more time.

I built consistency. I didn't start out with consistency. I made my (modest) goals and didn't have to beat myself up for failure. As I was building consistency, I was also figuring out what I liked to do. Liking your exercise is really, really helpful.

Another method is the "avoid public embarrassment" option. Tell everyone in your family....I am going to exercise everyday. Then put a sticker on a calendar (hung in a public place) for every workout.....so everyone can see your success....or failure.

Another option is join a "workout challenge" group. Here in MFP you can find an exercise group that fits whatever it is you like to do.

In Community.....choose Groups ......Find a Group

Swimming, P90X, Walking, 30 Day Shred, etc.

Look at yourself in the mirror. See what you' like to improve about yourself, phsyically. Then focus on changing it with the correct exercise. There are numerous forums on here posted by people who used exercise to change their bodies to a better form and are continuing the exercise because they see it works.
