Best Way to Lose Weight?

Hi all.
I need help, I'm not sure what method/approach I should take to lose weight, keep it off and not get any loose skin!.
Can someone please give me advice on how I should start my weight loss journey. Thank you very much.

Fad diets don't work, eat a healthy diet which includes all food groups. exercise, light weight lifting to tone and heavy to build muscle depending on your health. I tried using fad diets (ALL OF THEM) and ended up dieting my way to over 300 lbs at one point. I finally lost about 30 lbs and then got medical supervision. Lost over 120 lbs in 2 years (The first 80 came off fast but slowed way down so I don't need surgery for excess skin).
Good luck to you. There is no miracle cure or fast weight loss solution that works,(for the long term) hard work and eating right are what does!0 -
Calorie Deficit is the most important thing when trying to lose weight. The second most important thing is calorie deficit, and so on and so on.
If you want to look good AFTER you lose the weight, and help your weight loss throw in a strength training regimen as soon as possible..
Loose skin is a toughie, it might happen it might not, you only want to lose 67 pounds, so it MIGHT not be an issue (or at least as much of one) with someone who has a couple of hundred pounds. The strength training can be a BIG help there too.0 -
Just throwing in again that all you need to do is make sure you are eating fewer calories than you burn over time. Use the site's tools and count your calories as you go and you'll learn what works best for you if you're patient.
In my opinion that's the best way to keep the weight off once you hit your goal. Diets that put strict limits on what types of food or times of day that you can eat don't really teach you to eat "normally" once you reach your goal weight and it's very easy to just go back to your old habits.
Overall keep at it, be patient and keep your goal in mind when you get frustrated0 -
Start in the kitchen! A good diet like ketogenic works wonders, do some research and read up about it tons of information out there. plus HIIT cardio0

Count your calories, get plenty of protein, and go slow with a narrow deficit (i.e. don't eat too little.)0 -
The only thing that matters for weight loss is a calorie deficit. The composition of the calories or macronutrients will improve certain things. For satiety eat foods high in protein and fats, fiber helps too. For muscle retention aim for 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass (about 75-85% of your weight in grams of protien) and carbs for energy. Unless there is an intolerance or you have binge issues, there is no reason to heavily restrict carbs or any types of food.. Essentially, find a diet style that you will most likely adhere to. For me, I found I do much better setting my macro's at 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fats and dont' limit foods.. otherwise I will splurge.0

Lifting heavy will increase strength more, lifting lighter will increase muscular endurance. Both will retain muscle. But toning is just a diet term for fat loss, which is accomplished through diet. Both lifting light or heavy will provide the same end result in terms of look. Personally, i think a combination of heavy weight low rep and light weight high rep is beneficial so you hit both your fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibers.0 -

Agree entirely. Asking other people about the "best" way to lose weight will only get people to tell you what they prefer, and while in my experience some people believe their preferred way really is the "best" way for everyone (and will even argue the subject), there is no best way for everyone. You have to find what works for you and what you can stick with for the long haul. If you find a particular diet causes you to drop weight quickly but you're absolutely miserable while following it, odds are you aren't going to be able to stick with that diet for the long haul. Dieting doesn't have to consist of equal parts misery and starvation - find what works for you. Just remember that a caloric deficit is still the key, whether you do keto, paleo, some sort of voodoo juice diet, etc.0 -
I had great success with alternate day intermittent fasting (JUDDD), but the plan at its core is still a calorie restricting plan. As others have said-weight loss is about calories, calories, calories0
