Creatine is already in meat and fish so you'll never be off of it unless you stop eating them.

That's a very good point ninerbuff, the problem with that is, because of my Gout condition, Meat, fish (and beer) are my trigger foods, which is why I looked into Creatine. But I think that bit of info would help others, thanks.0 -
youre taking creatine? thats good mane, thats real good.
Lmao, too funny bro.0 -
Hodgetwins are funny as hell but generally not that accurate. But in this case they are right. I haven't seen the video but if they did say "Creatine is like steroids" then it's true. It's also true that weight training is like steroids and running is like steroids.
If you stop taking steroids, you might lose muscle and strength.
If you stop taking creatine, you might lose strength.
If you stop weight training, you might lose muscle and strength.
If you stop running, you might lose endurance.
If you stop cycling, you might lose endurance.
If you stop breathing, you die.
Any logician with half a brain will tell you that
x is true if and only if y is true
y is true
therefore x is true
Almost everything is like steroids!
Best logic I've heard all day0 -
I've never taken it but my sone did and it is not a steroid but he did have problems with rapid heart rate and palpitations and the doctor told him to stop and the heart rate went back to normal.
Did he confuse caffeine for creatine?0 -

Did he confuse caffeine for creatine?
My first thought is that he wasn't taking pure creatine but getting it in a pre-workout supplement (like C4) that has added caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins (same things energy drinks contain).0 -
All this is just advice...0

Creatine is not a steroid, or even like steroids. This will explain it better than anything else:

Once u stop taking it u will lose a couple of reps and maybe a couple pounds of water weight.
This was exactly my experience.0 -
Creatine just serves as a reserve for phosphate tht you can use to regenerate ATP which is what your muscle cells use for energy. This is what gives you that extra oomph in the early part of your workouts. I've also seen research showing that beyond that because creatine loads the cells with water and causes them to expand it exerts a chronic low grade hypertrophic effect on the muscle cells as well.
As for kidney damage, creatinine which is the breakdown product of creatine is excreted by your kidneys and is used as a marker of kidney function but it does not cause the damage. Docs are trained to equate elevated creatinine levels with decreasing kidney function but in the case of creatine supplementation the elevation is more likely due to increased intake rather than poor excretion. Hope this helps shed some light on it.0 -
So why are steroids drugs but creatine isn't?

They r different compounds.
Yeah, but steroids and paracetamol are different compounds, but they are still drugs? Why is creatine not?0 -

drug is a very broad term. If u r going bu the def of a drug as a substance the creates an affect in the body. Then almost everything is a drug0 -
So why are steroids drugs but creatine isn't?
Yeah, but steroidsand paracetamol are different compounds, but they are still drugs? Why is creatine not?
So you're saying creatine is a drug? I don't know what defines a drug, that's what I'm unsure of, but everyone else seems to know for sure that creatine isn't one, and I'm just wondering why.0
