I need opinions please!!!

I have some questions about two products!

1 - Raspberry Ketones - I have seen a lot of hype about these and wonder if anyone has tried them, would try them and what people think etc.

2 - Bio 'Skinny Shake' - Again, has anyone tried this product, would they use etc.

I don't use these products but have been looking at them.....I can't decide whether they constitute as 'cheating' when it comes to loosing weight or do they become a helpful product?

If there is something I should use or instead of these products named above. I also am looking for a similar products a male could use (not sure if the above products are useful)

Thanks in advance - all help really appreciated I want to get back off to a good start!

They'll make your wallet lighter. I wouldn't consider them cheating since they don't actually do anything anyway.

    No.
    And no.

Special products aren't necessary for weight loss. The only thing they are successful at doing is making your wallet lighter.

Ooooooh, I hear the combination of desert air and ocean breeze can help speed up ketosis! In combination with the Raspberry Ketones this would be awesome. Hope someone jumps on it quickly.

THIS. All the other stuff is the diet industry's way of making money off people who can't seem to stop eating too much.

I don't see how anything that aids in weight loss that doesn't damage your health could be considered "cheating". Have you signed some type of agreement or have a set of rules you must follow?

That said, I do not believe that there is yet a magic pill for weight loss. It may help if you believe it will help (placebo affect), but it's still really up to you to consume less calories than you burn.

If you want to lose wallet weight you can do that . . . or you can just send the money straight to me and I can perform a special weight loss dance on your behalf while chanting your name . . . either way the results would be the same for you and more beneficial for me.

Skip them. Just eat at a calorie deficit and you'll lose the weight without having to buy products that don't really do much for you. Good luck!

As I said one time before, the only way you will know if it works is if you try it yourself:

    http://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Ketones-Capsules-Appetite-Suppressant/dp/B005DO1JJ4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1389978801&sr=8-2&keywords=raspberry+ketones

if it works your spending less money on food.. if it doesnt then youre out of 25 bucks, but at least you gained some personal knowledge eh?

For me, I cant tell you if it works or not because I never even tried it

Are you doing weight training and that's why you're thinking protein powder? Or only thinking specifically about boosting weight loss? I've lost 88 lbs. just eating at a calorie deficit and keeping fairly balanced with my macros. I can't afford the extra stuff so know nothing of it. But now that I am close to goal, I'm trying to build muscle/tone and am trying to up my protein. I would use protein powder to make sure I have enough protein to feed my muscles, but probably not for weight loss.

The MFP user community is mostly people who won't touch the stuff, and for good reason! But I'll tell you what. Google these products along with the word "reviews" (or go to Amazon--they have a lot of this stuff.) Read what people who have tried it are saying. Most of them will tell you they don't work.

I happen to think you got some wonderful advice. Just because everyone didn't tell you just what you wanted to hear doesn't mean the advice wasn't solid and factual. Want to lose weight? Eat a calorie deficit. Want to boost your results and be fit while you're at it? Watch your macros and work out.

Here's your good advice for today: If you see it on Dr. Oz, it's a gimmick. There are no "super weight loss" products that will help you lose weight any faster. The only way to lose weight is to eat at a calorie deficit. Save your money and don't buy any raspberry ketones. As far as protein shakes, the majority of people who are using them are heavy lifting and looking to gain weight by eating at a calorie surplus, and the shakes give them additional protein to help their muscles build. Supplements are great if you are short on nutrients somewhere in your diet, but they will not help you lose weight.

Not everyone is as gentle as you might expect or like, BUT you HAVE gotten good advice. These products and the ones before and the ones after like them do not work- or work but cause more harm than good, or work but weight returns when stopped- and are not necessary or helpful in the end.

People use protein shakes to ensure that they have adequate protein in their diet because they are either trying to maintain or gain muscle mass. They do not use them because they believe they have special powers to speed weight loss (unless they use them as meal replacement to stay within their calorie goals). That is the difference between protein supplements and the scammy, trendy products you mention. I hope that helps.

Good luck to you. Do use this site to help you and take the advice of avoiding these products even if you don't like the tone of the advice (know what I mean?)

Also, do a forum search under "community" for any supplements you are considering. A lively discussion with the same general consensus follows each topic. There's a reason for that. I think a lot of people are here on this site for something that works, that is a new lifestyle NOT a magic potion because they know from experience and being on the weight loss roller coaster that any weight lost with a 'fad' WILL come back. AND, I think many of us have tried and failed, seen other people try and fail or have researched actual science on these products. The problem with some of these products is that it is easy to throw in a few big words, skew some of the legitimate research and make is SOUND like science. It's not.

tl:dr?//////// Please do the searches and see what people here have to say. The advice to avoid these supplements is good advice. Protein shakes are for muscle maintenance or growth and do not cause weight loss.

    This.

And they'll only make your bank account smaller since they don't actually do anything. I guarantee the packaging says "when used in conjunction with diet & exercise."

I decided in my ultimate desperation one day to buy Green Tea Extract. I knew it couldn't really be beneficial but did act as a placebo for me for the month I took it. I know it didn't help but I wanted to believe so badly it did that it did help me get a few pounds off. I would never reommend it. Someone could have switched the bottle with multivitamins and I would've just been better off.

As everyone said, there is no shortcut. Eat less, move more.

I do drink protein drinks on occassion just to recover after a particularly hard workout or on days where I don't have enough protein. Once in a while I'll mix them with yogurt etc as my lunch. They also aren't a shortcut.

However, in my opinion you wouldn't want a shortcut. I've lost over 100 pounds and I wouldn't be the same person I am had I not put the hard work in and continue to do so.
