I recently started following a meal plan to get leaner and gain muscle definition. My weight has remained the same; however, my body fat percentage has gone up. I strength train 6 days/week 2hrs. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

That can't be true. You can't gain muscle, have your weight stay the same, and have your body fat percent go up. It's a 0 sum gain.

To figure out how you're doing, look at your weight, your inches, and your body.

BF measurements are notoriously inaccurate. The ones based on measurements can't differentiate fat from muscle - they are averages. The airpods don't work that well. The best are water displacement because they accurately measure weight and body volume and can calculate your body density, from which they can derive that denser people have greater bone density and/or more muscle mass.

If you're using a scale to do it, forget it.

No question BF calculations differentiate fat from average from really buff folks - just like BMI does. But those numbers are just based on average models and your body is different.

Are you using a digital scale for fat% - if so, they are very inaccurate.

Is the 6 day a week weights new? If so, it'll just be water.
