So now I got my own wedding to get fit for!! Anyone else the same? Not having long engagement as just want to be married but worried I put myself under stress and backfire. Started new gym in new town and found myself back into being really hungry as working out in evenings at gym.
Just wondering anyone else out there getting wed soon or tips on getting there!! Im not just doing this for the day but to start married life as we both want - fit and healthy. I already have lost 6 stone and my Partner has lost 9. We just the final 2 stone to get to goals!!

Not I but congrats. This is awesome (although admittedly my first thought was "she stole the groom????" - haha!)
Keep working together and you'll get there :drinker:0 -
haha guess you could read it that way.
Not one for all this palava and now making me stress eat. Im really trying.0 -
Congratulations!
Some people tend to eat a lot while they're under stress. (including me) Maybe you could try some yoga? For me it's one of the best ways to release the stress. And when you want to eat something grab a fruit. It won't to the same damage as chocolate or chips.0 -
I'm getting married next July (2015), although I'm the groom rather than the bride.
I'm hoping to be hitting my ideal weight by the end of this year or thereabouts, so that I've got plenty of margin for error (and plenty of time to get measured for my kilt etc. without worrying about changing size).
I think my only tip is to keep everything organised, prioritised, and written-down. It's much easier to enjoy the fun parts of wedding-planning if you've already got the big scary bits under control (such as budget planning and venue booking).0 -
Congratulations to you both on your engagement & weight loss!
Please make sure that you eat enough food to fuel your workouts. You mentioned you workout in the evenings, so that could mean eating a small snack before you hit the gym (if you go on the way home from work), or eating a little extra at mealtime. I always find my own workouts suffer if I'm hungry; I just don't have the energy to put in an effective workout. It also helps to plan a post workout snack - especially if that's when the hunger usually hits you. Something like greek yogurt, or a banana, or nuts, or even a small smoothie would keep you satisfied and make you less likely to over eat later in the evening.
Good luck with your wedding plans and have fun at the gym!

Thanks Skye!! I really need to work on eating. I prefer eating bigger meal in evenings but everyone says to have that at lunch and light at night. Maybe its the routine from family days of big meal at night etc I can't get over!0

Do what works for you! I had a hard time when we ran in the evenings during the summer - I hated eating right before a run because I always felt terrible. I usually had a light snack an hour or so before the run and then my big meal when we got home... sometimes not until 8 pm or later. I know a lot of people 'close the kitchen' after 7pm but that just didn't fit for me.0 -
Same here. Its easy for those to advise that who can but each body is different! You put too much stress on yourself to eat before a certain time. Surely grazing and smaller meals when hungry is better!0
