The rut continues

Ugh! I am having a horrible time trying to get out of this rut. I have been working out and eating pretty well, but I feel fat, bloated and yucky. I haven't gained any weight, but haven't lost any either. I find myself craving sweets (it is that week), and it's as though my will power is gone! My son has been transported to the state hospital and has been in the hospital the past 2 weeks so I think the majority of this is as a result of this situation and the stress of dealing with the rest of my family, and not to mention the ex-wife and bio mom. I know the desire is still there. I feel it every morning. I have been working out but not as hard. I know it will pass and I just need to not force it, but give it time. Any suggestiosn?

Treat the stress. I am sorry you are going through so much. It get's overwhelming. If you take time to nurture yourself with some rest, maybe an enjoyable work out, or just a walk through an art gallery, or park. When you are ready, and relaxed I think the weight will start dropping again. Best wishes.
  • If you feel bloated you should try making iced tea-
I get like lipton bags of tea and if you brew that and then let it cool and put it in the fridge, its really good iced-tea:)
I add "Organic Blue Agave" which you can buy from costco/winco/safeway. It's an organic sweetener so i use it instead of sugar. Then i usually add a lemon wedge. It really helps in my opinion:)
  • Special K low calorie chocolatey drizzle is fantastic and may help with "that time" cravings. As far as your stress... if you can channel it to your workout, you may find yourself working out harder than you did before. Try finding some music that relates to your frustration. Get together some songs on an ipod or mp3 player that relate and listen to them while you're working out. I generally hate working out but when I hear certain songs that relate to the frustrations I have with my daughter's father, I work harder. Of course drink lots of water and don't weigh all the time. I have vowed not to weigh more than once a week. It's not easy because I am curious, but I don't find myself stressing. I read that because of hormones and the like, women's weight changes daily. That can be frustrating when you're working hard and all the sudden an extra pound shows up. And that extra pound may be just water weight that you'll lose the next day.

    Hope any of this helps.
  • Make sure you just take time out for yourself each day - even if it's just 5 minutes to sit an reflect and relax. Thinking of you xxx

Thanks guys! I feel a bit better this morning. I think that if I take the time for "me" during my workout and leave everything else out for that hour than I will be better. I will make an effort to put forth 100%!
