How many calories should I be eating?

Myfitnesspal tells me to lose 2lbs a week I should eat 1,400 calories. I am 5'4, 258lbs (recently lost 9lbs). Is 1,400 too low? I feel good and sometimes I have a hard time reaching 1,400 calories. I am doing spinning 4 times a week and lifting light weights. It is hard to sometimes reach 1,400 calories because a lot of what I am eating is veggies and those foods don't have too many cals. Any advice? I am just afraid if I don't eat enough for my frame my body will get used to not needing that many calories and therefore it will be more difficult to lose weight once I start shedding more pounds. Advice?
I forgot to mention, I do not eat the exercise calories.

I seem to have similar stats and exercise routine. I eat 1600 calories a day. Sometimes it is hard to get up to that number, but I always force myself and have some go to healthy high-calorie snacks if need be - quest bars, natural peanut butter, almonds, cheese, protein shakes. Feel free to add me!0
