Exhaustion and Heart Rate?

Hey everyone,
I'm a 22 yo female and I'm finally trying to lose my freshman 15 from the last 4 years of college. I've always been pretty active and healthy, but I've been having an issue with exhaustion and my heart rate. I take my own heart rate when I work out (I'm an EMT so I'm used to doing it in difficult circumstances) and my heart rate typically stays around 165-185 when working out, and I hit 201 today. I try to get it down a little but I can't get it to go down further than 160. I've only been doing some light interval training on the elliptical (an hour a day) to get my body moving again. When I go to the gym at night, I'm not exhausted afterwards and I can complete the 30DS in my living room after I get home. But when I try to go in the morning/afternoon, I become too exhausted to do the shred afterwards. It's harder for me to breathe and my chest hurts but I usually don't have too much of an issue at night. Is this relatively normal or do you think I should head to a doctor? I've never had any major health problems before
Thanks!

Are you saying your HR is equally high in the morning vs. evening, doing the same workout?
Any morning allergy issues?0 -
At 22 years of age I wouldn't think occasionally hitting 200 would be a problem since the estimated max is roughly 220-age. Each person's maxHR can vary from that, though. For instance, I'm 38 years old and have a fairly recent observed max of 194bpm, so 12 points over my estimated max.
If you're getting true chest pain, get checked out by a doctor.
If you're just finding it taxing, slow down. You want to be able to talk during exercise, even if you wouldn't want to.0 -
If you are concerned. Go see a doctor.
I am not a morning person. Morning workouts are hell on me.
I AM a night person... I love going for a run around 10pm.
The same run would kick my *kitten* if I did it at 6am.
Brushing my teeth at 6am kicks my *kitten*.
Getting out of BED kicks my *kitten*.
My tips: 1) listen to your body. (unless it tells you to stay on the couch and watch tv all day and night).
2) If you are experiencing pain, that doesn't make sense to you (as an EMT), then go see a doctor.0 -
How many calories are you eating? How much sleep are you getting?
1 hour of interval training on an elliptical PLUS 30DS everyday seems like a lot of exercise.
I suspect that the difference between the morning and evening workouts has to do with your nutrition rather than your HR.0 -

I was thinking the same thing. Lack of food plus dehydration can elevate heart rate and wear you out in a hurry. Try eating more before/during your workout in the morning.0
