I'm so confused about how much pasta I should be eating?

I am THE WORST with numbers and very very confused with what amount is actually one serving. I've looked around on MFP and there have been threads about this but a lot of mixed comments. I just need a straight answer.

This is what I'm eating, nutrition facts are there if you scroll down a bit: http://www.barilla.com/content/product/whole-grain-penne

The one thing I found that I've been going by is 56g = 1/3 cup of this dry = nearly a cup cooked which is some how 200 cals when the whole wheat penne pasta I cooked last week before I ran out was 1 cup dry = 280 calories.

HELP...

For this box of pasta, weigh out 56 g of it dry. This is 2oz and is 200 cals. It will be nearly a cup cooked and I've found that the weight just about doubles when it is cooked. Hope this helps.

Also, you might have been mistaken with your old pasta. if there was a pasta that had those calories for that serving size then it would be world famous...

The ingredient content can shift the calories of the pasta. For instance, for typical bread, you can estimate about 70-90 cals/oz, but if the bread has seeds, nuts, raisins, sugar/flavor swirls, etc., you would have to check on it specifically.

For the pasta thing, make sure you are looking at the correct amounts uncooked/cooked. The numbers will make sense. So if you buy a 14oz box of dry pasta, and the serving of 2oz is 1/7 of the box, then you must assume the info is for uncooked.
