Hi all, I'm a little bit confused about the calories from exercise. Should I be aiming to eat them back or should I stick to my 1,200 calories and use to calories gained in exercise to increase the difference?

Hi,
I've been reading up on this or the past few days and my understanding is that you should eat your exercise cals back. If you don't then I've read that your body literally doesn't have enough calories left to burn calories...if that makes sense.. This can also contribute to a slower metabolism which ultimately slows progress.
So it seems that you should eat them back...in the form of good food though!0 -
Yes, MFP is set up so that you eat the extra calories that you earn to help fuel your body when you're more active. With the caveat that MFP and gym machines sometimes overestimate calories burned, so many people recommend eating 50-75% of them, just in case.0
