Physical Therapy is a P.I.T.A.

Okay so I am not looking for diagnosis or anything along those lines at all. I know what is wrong with me and I am going to PT for it. (Not that PT will fix everything that is wrong with me but at least the bursitis in my hip and maybe the pain running down my leg  )

What I want to ask is - when do you know your physical therapist is a quack?

I am in no way dissing PT - at all. I have had it in the past and it has worked successfully for me. (tore muscles from my sternum, also right knee surgery and bursitis in both shoulders!) I have PT to thank for the fact that I am no longer dragging my right leg around and I can lift both arms over my head! :) So nothing bad to say about PT

Now about the therapist.... the head guy no less... when do you know he's um, not all there??

So, backstory -He is constantly getting the sides he is working on wrong. He will look at my left and say right... all the time. That is weird enough and I kinda laugh it off.. kinda... :ohwell:

The guy tells me today, as we are talking about my weight loss and because I mentioned weight lifting/strength training and the scale, "you know you shouldn't base it solely on the scale, muscle weighs more than fat and since you are lifting you will be gaining muscle". Ah, okay... don't they take physiology for this?

Then he goes on to say that the only 'exercises' he will ever do is functionality training, (mentioned TRX - which BTW I had never heard of) where he engages all the muscles "you know when you do things like this"..and he made a motion of moving from the lower left to the higher right, Like he was picking something up off the floor and throwing it to the side over his shoulder... I may not have described that very well... but maybe you know what I am saying. And I was thinking yeah cuz my goal is to enter a sack tossing competition?

Anyway, can I have any faith in this guy? Is he a quack? Am I missing something here?

Let the games begin!
