Marathon Training

Hi There,

I'm training for a marathon happening in June. It will be my first in 10 years and only my second ever, so its like...well, my first.
Id love to compare notes and track progress with anyone in the same boat. I barely ran a sub 2 hour Half 2 months ago so looking to train to run a sub four hour. Let me know if you want to chat and swap stories and insights..as we train up!

I LOVE running - its my place to go ... and makes me a better person - mentally and physically. I have done many 1/2 marathons and I have also done one marathon - Vancouver, a great course. A couple of suggestions - Runtastic Ap - GPS's your route, time, cals burnt. All of this info is logged onto your acct on their website and it also interfaces with MFP - so it will log your exercise for you. So I looooove this ap and use it all the time. Additionally when I was training for my marathon I use the Runners World Ap - you plug in your race date, your required time you want for the race and it will plug you back a program, which will include the type of run you should be doing (hill, speed etc) and the time you should be running a km/mile. Again I loved this program/ap. Unfortunately I live in a climate where I have to run on a tread mill if I don't want to fall and break bones (which I did) ... in the winter time & I trained for my marathon mostly on a treadmill and in the process damage one of my discs in my back - 3 hrs on a treadmill will do that to you apparently. Soooo I am limiting myself to halfies only going forward :) Friend me if you would like ... but I'm a halfy all the way now, so you are warned :)
