15% protein minimum to keep hunger at bay?

I heard this on the radio today.. I didn't catch the name of the study the DJ was reading but he said
Your brain needs a minimum of 15% of your calorie intake in order to stop the hunger signals. If you do not eat at least 15% your brain goes into self preservation mode and send outs signals to eat more. A good example is Thanksgiving day. Most of us eat more then enough protein then we need on a normal day, however we then eat a crap load of carb/fats which pushes the percentage of protein to under 15%, which causes your brain to tell you to eat more..
True? Partially true? False?

Start by googling the word "satiety", and learn about the bio chemistries of hormones like leptin and grelin and insulin. I think you will get a more informed understanding than the arbitrary 15% protein concept you heard about (where did that come from I don't know).0

Do some more research. I set my macros to 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. Protein equals around 220 grams per day. But that's just me.0

I agree with the 40/30/30 break-down (40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat). When I do eat that way I tend to be way less hungry. I love my carbs, but I am always hungry when I eat more than 50% in carbohydrates. I think it is more important to eat the right breakdown of carb/protein/fat at every meal/snack, rather than focus on the calories. When I do, I tend to eat less in the long run, while still being satisfied.0

I read Jillian Michaels book Making the Cut and from there I learned there are three types of metabolisms. I learned that I'm a balanced oxidizer and I feel my best eating 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat. I have more energy, I'm not having any cravings for fatty or sugary foods, I feel satisfied. There are also slow and fast oxidizers and the %'s vary with which type of metabolism you have, but according to her none of the types should eat below 25% protein.0

I eat 30-40-30. (Carbs-protein-fat) I'm not changing it.
I was just wondering if it's more misinformation or if there is something to it. i have a bunch of friends who are vegan/vegetarian and eat hardly any protein and are always hungry. I thought if i could give them a low number to aim for maybe they would do it?
I cant' Google and ascertain what is real information and what is not, i much prefer books0
