We can do this!

I do need to remind everyone that slow and steady wins the race. we all know fad diets don't work. they don't. no matter what the diet or how great the ad in the magazine looks. calorie counting and exercise work.... we all know this much. and we all know 1000 calories in fruits veggies and lean meats go a lot further than 1000 calories of mt. dew and Cheetos. Anyway.... my point is, be patient, don't get discouraged. Slow and steady most definitely wins this race, and we all know it, even though we like to think there is something easier out there. Losing weight is tough, it can be an emotional roller coaster. But how bad do we want it? We didn't gain our weight overnight, and we're not going to lose it overnight. So let us all face reality, do this the healthy way, and encourage one another on our own individual journey of finding our new skinny selves!!!! Good Luck! You can do this!:wink:

100% right! :flowerforyou: Sometimes it's just so hard to get through to people though! I just want to smack some sense into people that don't listen!

Thanks for that I really needed it. My scale
has been going slow. But like you said,
slow and patient wins the race.

Thanks for the post! I guess some of us, just are impatient and just want it off right away. But you are right, patience is the key. It will eventually come off, we just have to keep working at it.

Thank you so much for that encouragement. Sometimes I really get frustrated with the slow and steady method, so I NEEDED to read that this morning. I know this is the right way to do it....a total lifestyle change. :)
Great job on your weight loss btw! WoW!

What a great and amazing journey you are on.
    Good work and keep going.
  • We all know we can do this! regardless of people trying to put us down or whatever!!!! and look at this great benefit of having myfitnesspal! this is by far the BEST dieting tool I've ever found! it's so great to be able to network and talk to people that are going through the exact same struggles we all are! and we all deserve a big pat on the back for trying to better ourselves and get healthy! regardless of what anyone else tells us! But i have found... that most of my friends that try to discourage me, are my friends that are overweight, not trying to get healthy, or not happy with their own bodies. Just know that you're doing what is right for you, and if you fall of the bandwagon, just remember that tomorrow will be a better day ;)
  • Thank you so much! I gained 30 pounds in college, and it was a real struggle to get it off, and the healthy way was my last choice..... the last thing i tried, and the only thing that work. 30 pounds might not sound like a lot, but it was really significant to me. when i go to the gym, sometime i pick up two 15lb weights, just to remind myself of all the excess weight i was carrying around! crazy!
